Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
