I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
