Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
