Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
